PINE & ERICA HEATHER HONEY
A real balsam for the body with a very nice taste!
There are many different types of honey, depending on the plant, which bees use to feed. Heather is an excellent honey-producing plant, simply because it has certain unique properties that are important for your health.
These properties are naturally passed on to honey as well, so in recent years its popularity has grown sharply and more and more people are looking for it in the market.
The heather (Erica manipuliflora, heather or vertebrate) belongs to the family of Erechsians. As a herb it contains alkaloids, arbutin, citric and fumaric acid, volatile oil, tannin and carotene. It has been widely used as a medicinal plant in the highlands of Europe, where it is native to entire areas. The healing properties of the herb have been recorded since the Middle Ages, since they are mentioned in 7th century AD books.
It is an astringent, slightly sedative and hypnotic herb, with diuretic, expectorant and sweating properties. It acts as an antiseptic and anti-inflammatory especially in the urinary tract.
The decoction of the plant works positively on the stones formed in the urinary tract, fights kidney colic, chronic cystitis and edema, and helps reduce the chance of a prostate problem.
It also helps with gastritis problems with excessive digestive fluid secretion, colic in the intestines accompanied by diarrhea and liver and biliary diseases. Thanks to its sedative properties, it helps to reduce nerve hyperstimulation, nervous exhaustion and insomnia.
A 2012 study found that honey from the heather plant had the highest phenol content. Also, the high amount of hex honey antioxidants helps to remove the free radicals produced as a result of metabolic reactions and interactions with the external pollutants of the environment. Eliminating these free radicals prevents aging and improves overall health.
